Jasper Tourism

About Jasper Tourism

An independent guide built around the relationship between a real town and protected wilderness.

A field guide, not an authority.

Jasper Tourism is an independent editorial travel guide. It is designed to help visitors understand the town, valley, seasons and practical choices that shape a trip. For closures, fire information, wildlife rules, permits and safety decisions, use current Parks Canada sources.

Community is not scenery.

Jasper is a living community as well as a destination. This guide avoids turning residents, rebuilding or the 2024 wildfire into decorative storytelling. It favors useful context, locally grounded choices and respect for places under continuing pressure.

Landscape stewardship

Jasper National Park is within lands traditionally used by multiple First Nations and Métis communities. Indigenous history and contemporary presence should be learned through properly attributed sources and direct Indigenous voices, not invented motif or generic symbolism.
