Effective date: September 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how The Travel Spark Company LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) handles personal information through jaspertourism.ca (“Jasper Tourism”). We are an independent visitor guide. Our privacy contact is [email protected].
Information we collect and why
- Enquiries: the name, email address, subject and message you choose to send through our contact form or by email. We use these to respond, investigate corrections and manage the correspondence. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing.
- Newsletter: your email address and subscription preferences when you expressly choose to sign up. We use these to send Jasper Tourism guides, seasonal inspiration and travel offers. We record the time, form and consent wording associated with a subscription request; a hashed reference is used for the local consent record.
- Technical and security information: our hosting and security services may process IP addresses, browser and device information, request times and requested URLs to deliver pages, prevent abuse and investigate faults. Form rate limits use short-lived records based on a hashed network address.
- Travel interactions: tour searches, selected filters, pages associated with affiliate clicks and interactions with travel tools may be processed to provide relevant results, measure use and attribute referrals. If you use the optional trip helper, your submitted questions and trip preferences may be processed by the services supporting that tool. Do not include sensitive personal information in a travel search or chat.
Email and Brevo
We use Brevo to manage newsletter subscriptions and deliver contact-form messages. Information necessary for those functions is processed through Brevo. Subscribe only with an email address you control. You can withdraw newsletter consent using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us. We retain the information needed to honour an opt-out and avoid sending you unwanted marketing. See Brevo’s Privacy Policy for its own practices.
Cookies, browser storage and external services
The site and its providers may use cookies or similar browser storage for essential functions, saved preferences, security and referral attribution. Third-party images and travel resources can receive your IP address and browser information when your browser requests them. A linked booking website may set its own cookies when you visit it.
You can review, block or remove cookies using your browser settings. Blocking storage may affect preferences and some interactive features. Any nonessential consent choice presented by a service applies to that service. We do not treat contacting us as permission to receive marketing.
Travel providers and affiliate links
Our travel tools display information supplied by external providers, including Viator and, when available, hotel booking partners. Clicking a booking link may pass referral identifiers and trip-search details to the destination service. The provider controls its own checkout, booking records, payment handling and privacy practices. We do not collect payment card details through this site.
Review the provider’s privacy notice before sharing personal information or completing a booking. This policy does not govern third-party websites.
Who receives information
We share information as needed with service providers supporting hosting, security, email delivery and the travel features you use. We may also disclose information to comply with a lawful request, protect people and the site, investigate abuse, or in connection with a business reorganization subject to applicable safeguards. We do not sell contact-form details or our newsletter mailing list.
International processing
We and our service providers may process information outside your province or country, including in the United States and other locations where our providers operate. Information may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of those locations. You may contact us with questions about the service providers used for your information.
Retention and safeguards
We keep information only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including correspondence, consent and opt-out records, security, dispute resolution and legal obligations. Retention depends on the information and context; backups and provider records may remain for their normal retention cycle after active records are removed.
We use access controls, encrypted connections and other reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information. No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please do not send financial credentials, identity documents, health details or other sensitive information through our forms.
Your choices and rights
You can choose not to submit a form, unsubscribe from marketing, change browser storage settings, and ask us about the information we hold about you. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or restriction of your information, withdraw consent, or raise an objection. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information when a legal obligation or another permitted reason applies.
Send requests to [email protected]. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. You may also raise a concern with the relevant privacy regulator, including the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, where applicable.
Children
The site is intended for a general travel-planning audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly seek their personal information. If you believe a child has submitted information without appropriate consent, contact us so we can investigate and remove it where required.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or practices change. The effective date identifies the current version. Material changes will be described on this page, and we will seek additional consent where required.
